OK, I managed to finish the first volume of an updated version of the CCIE RS Quick Review Kit. There is some new content added, as well as some minor and major corrections and cleanups. I also increased the size of the font for better readability. Next volumes are planned within 3-4 months. Downloads (old and new) are here:
CCIE RS Quick Review Kit ver.1 (Updated 2009.11.14)
CCIE RS Quick Review Kit ver.2 vol.1 (Updated 2011.12.27)
As always, please send any opinion, suggestions, etc.
If you like my notes, and would like to see more, you can share your happiness and gratitude using my wishlist at Amazon.com :-)
And of course, Happy New Year and successful labbing/passing/etc…
Dear all,
Many appologies for a delay with updates. As I stated many times, I am so overloaded with our customers’ projects. My main area of interest now is Datacenter, ie: Nexus, UCS, Storage. It’s something I try to discover lately a lot, as I have been always in R/S area, till now:-) Datacenter is evolving so rapidly, and customers got crazy :-) about new virtualization solutions, so they keep coming, and coming… :-) To be honest, I may not be able to finish updates this year :-( I will do my best, but no promisses. I am really sorry about that…
Cheers,
Krzysztof
Hi everyone,
I got recertified today, so I would say a chillout for next 2 years :-) Sorry for a little delay with Quick Review Kit. There are so many updates I am adding, and it takes some time to learn and lab it all. You cannot imagine how much stuff is still to be learned after you pass CCIE RS lab. The lab is just the beginning… My first update covered only new topics introduced in v4.0. Now, I am reviewing whole document. Give me few more weeks. I hope you will enjoy new 3-volume booklet :-)
Cheers,
My 2-year recertfication deadline is approaching (~4 months), so stay tuned for new Kit updates :-) New stuff will be added along with some major/minor bug fixes.
Finaly, I found some spare time to finish MPLS update for my review kit. There are also some minor changes in other sections. Next update is planned somewhere in Q3’2010. There will be lot’s of changes (more topics, more diagrams, etc). Feel free to send any comments or suggestions.
CCIE R&S Quick Review Kit – Updated with MPLS !!
Enjoy.
And remember, the CCIE Quick Review Kit is, and always will be free of charge. If you find this booklet being sold anywhere, do not waste your money, you can always find a free copy on my blog. However, your gratitude is welcome :-)
I have updated my Review Kit for v4 exam. However, MPLS is still not there. First, it’s a big topic, so I want to spend some more time on preparing notes for it (I am short of time recently due to large projects I am involved in). Second, I will post a separate document which will be covering MPLS stuff only. Feel free to download the updated doc, and do not hesitate to send any comments or suggestions :-)
It’s been a while since I posted something, sorry about that, I am recently involved in many time-consuming projects :-) Anyway, this time I decided to make some notes regarding technical presenations and trainings. I have seen many types of different documents, I prepared few by myself, I attended miscelanous training and was a trainer myself, too, and believe me, I have seen a lot of nasty presentations :-) So, here are some of my thoughts on how to prepare good training material. I am not going to give you all details how to be a killer-presenter, as there have already been many books written on that subject, but I will mainly focus on the most important things I noticed people keep forgetting. Here we go (sequence is random):

If you would like to create your own mind maps, I recommend using MS Visio. There is a standard stencil in every version called Brainstorming. It can be found in the Business category. I haven’t used any other tools, so I cannot compare it, but it works perfectly. However, I recommend using copy-paste method of adding new concept lines, as the automatic positioning tool is sometimes unpredictible. Anyway, if you plan to start doing your notes as a mind-maps Visio is the tool you need.
